Patriotism
Patriotism is still important to me. Patriotism is when someone would fight and die for his/hers country. Almost all countries have patriotism even if that country doesn’t have a military the people can still be patriotic. Without patriotism, we wouldn’t have any one to stand up for us and we wouldn’t have are freedom.
If we didn’t have patriotism we probably wouldn’t have our freedom. Imagine if we didn’t have freedom today. We would still be ruled by England and we wouldn’t have a lot of the things we have today either. We still would be paying the high taxes we paid when we were ruled by England. We wouldn’t have freedom of speech and all the other rights we have today. We also would maybe have to worship one religion and worship one god. We would be bossed around by England and we wouldn’t have the technological advancements we have today like I-pods and other things.
We also wouldn’t have anyone to stand up for us. Like if someone attacked the U.S. we wouldn’t have anyone to stand up for us if we needed help. Also we would have no allies like we have today like England and France and Japan and a lot of other countries. Also if the terrorist bombed we and we have no patriotism we probably would still be getting attacked by the terrorists today in the U.S.
I think patriotism still matters today and we still have patriotism in the United States of America. Just look at the people in the army, navy, marines, air force, and coast guard they risk their life every day to keep this country safe and proud and free. Also a lot of the veterans have a wife/husband and kids. There are also a lot of people that are joining the military and have hopes of being in the military and fighting for their country.
